Critical Race Studies at 10:  Building our Home
CRS 2013 Symposium & Alumni Celebration Dinner Sponsorship Opportunities

Established in 2000, UCLA Law’s Critical Race Studies Program (CRS) is the premier institutional setting for the study of the intersection between race and the law.  The only program of its kind, CRS is anchored by the most renowned scholars whose research represents the cutting edge of legal scholarship, and the program has quickly emerged as a training ground for a new generation of practitioners, scholars, and advocates committed to racial justice.

Our 2013 CRS Symposium celebrates the work of over a decade of graduates and honors the legacy of one of the most important figures in Critical Race Theory—Professor Derrick Bell.  His racial justice activism, advocacy, and scholarship helped to build the home we call CRS.  This year’s symposium also includes our inaugural Alumni Celebration & Fundraising Dinner.  Proceeds from the dinner will be used to establish the Derrick Bell CRS Scholarship for students dedicated to advancing the goals of our program- to think, teach, and transform the quest for racial justice.
