Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Track Requirements

  • Three or four foundation courses in the second year (preferably in the first semester).
  • One Group A course.
  • Two Group B courses.
  • One transactional skills course (preferably in the third year). A second transactional skills course may be counted as a Group B course.

Please Note: Course offerings may vary from year to year.


  • [1] Law 740. Bankruptcy Transactional Seminar, is a Group B and transactional skills course, but for a particular student, it can count as either a Group B course or a transactional skills course but not both.
    [2] Law 745. Corporate Finance Transactions, is a Group B and transactional skills course, but for a particular student, it can count as either a Group B course or a transactional skills course but not both.

    [3] Law 914. a one-unit course, meets half of a Group B requirement.

    [4] A second transactional course may be counted as a Group B course.
    [5] Law 250. Secured Transactions and 761. Strategizing Secured Transactions are similar courses. Students cannot receive credit for both courses.
    [6] 761. Strategizing Secured Transactions is a Group A, Group B, and Transactional Skills course, but for a particular student it can count as only a Group A, a Group B, or a Transactional Skills course.
    [7] Law 250. Secured Transactions is both a Group A and a Group B course, but for a particular student it can count as either a Group A course or a Group B course, but not both.
    [8] Law 764. Intramural Transactional Law Meet Course is a one-unit course and meets half a Group B requirement.
