UCLA School of Law receives notices and information about various scholarships, fellowships and writing competitions sponsored by other law schools, universities, foundations, alumni associations, bar associations, etc. The Financial Aid Office will post applicable notices on this page as received.

THE BEVERLY HILLS BAR FOUNDATION 6TH ANNUAL RULE OF LAW COMPETITION
The Beverly Hills Bar Foundation announces the 6th Annual Rule of Law Competition to promote appreciation and understanding of the rule of law. Entries are due no later than April 1, 2015. Prizes will be awarded at the 61st Annual Beverly Hills Bar Association Supreme Court Luncheon in June 2015. Grand Prize is $2,500.00, with two Honorable Award prizes of $500.00 each.

ZELLE HOFMANN DIVERSITY IN LAW SCHOLARSHIP – 2015
This Scholarship was created for law students who either (1) are a member of a population or group whose background and perspectives are historically underrepresented in the private practice of law; or (2) demonstrate a long-standing commitment to diversity that will be furthered by award of the scholarship. The scholarship awards the selected recipient a total of $30,000 to be applied towards the selected recipient’s law school tuition, fees, and text books, with one half of the scholarship paid for the student’s second year of law school and one half of the scholarship paid for the student’s third year of law school subject.

WOMEN LAWYERS’ SECTION EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The San Mateo County Women Lawyers’ Section Educational Foundation (SMCWLSEF) was set up in 1996 as a non-profit organization to raise scholarship funds for deserving law students.  Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded over $75,000. Scholarships are available to all law students, both male and female.

M. KATHERINE BAIRD DARMER EQUALITY SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This scholarship was named in memory of the late M. Katherine Baird Darmer, an activist, law professor, and champion of change for the LGBT community in Orange County and beyond.  The scholarship amount is up to $5,000.

LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA AWARENESS/LAW SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship was established the Law Office of Renkin & Associates to provide financial support to a law student whose life has been impacted by lymphoma or leukemia and is seeking to continue his or her education through law school.  The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an applicant who submits the required application and essay by the deadline.

THE WALLIN & KLARICH SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is available to all college seniors in California who will be attending an accredited California law school in the fall of 2015 and are interested in pursuing a career in criminal justice. To apply for this scholarship, the student must write a single 700-1000 word essay.  The applicant who is selected to receive the scholarship will be announced no later than June 30, 2015, and a $3,000 check will be issued to his or her prospective law school which must be applied toward law school tuition, books and/or other course required materials.

2015 LEGAL SCHOLARSHIP
Moses and Rooth Attorneys at Law, a Criminal Defense Law Firm located in Orlando, Florida is offering a $1,000 scholarship to one incoming 1L or currently enrolled Law Student. Scholarship is offered for the Fall 2015 Academic Semester.

MIKE EIDSON SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship was established by the AAJ Women Trial Lawyers Caucus in 2008, in honor of AAJ Past President Mike Eidson, whose vision and generosity inspired it.  The Scholarship, traditionally given in the amount of $5,000, is awarded annually to a rising 3L (or rising 4L in a night program) female student who has demonstrated a commitment to a career as a plaintiffs’ lawyer or criminal defense lawyer, along with dedication to upholding and defending the principles of the Constitution, and to the concept of a fair trial, the adversary system, and a just result for the injured, the accused, and those whose rights are jeopardized.

LAW STUDENT DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP
As part of our commitment to diversity, Michigan Auto Law is pleased to sponsor an annual Scholarship Program to provide financial support to students who contribute to the diversity of the law school student body as they pursue their legal career. Our annual scholarship is $2,000 and will be awarded in July 2015.

FRANK H. LANG MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded annually, the Scholarship is a grant of $1,000.00 towards payment of law school tuition. Application for the Scholarship is open to both current and incoming law students who will be enrolled full or part-time during the 2015-2016 academic year. Students who will graduate by June 1, 2015 are not eligible to apply. The Scholarship will be awarded only to persons who graduated from a high school in the Central Valley of California. Application terms are set forth on the attached document.

JUSTICE PAULINE DAVIS HANSON SCHOLARSHIP
As a tribute to the memory of the late Associate Justice Pauline Davis Hanson, Fresno County Women Lawyers has established this Scholarship to encourage and support outstanding academic achievement and commitment to service by women law students. The Hanson Scholarship is an annual award to be presented to a current female law student for the following academic year in the amount of $2,000.00

2015 BUCKFIRE & BUCKFIRE, P.C. LAW SCHOOL DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP
The Diversity Scholarship is $2,000.00 and will be awarded to a student who is currently attending an accredited law school, who is either a member of an ethnic, racial, or other minority, or demonstrates commitment to issues of diversity within their academic career. The second annual award will be awarded in 2015.

A new $5,000 scholarship for California law students, being offered by the Biren|Katzman Law Firm in Los Angeles.  Evaluation of essay submissions will be based on legal analysis, creative thinking, and communication skills.

PLAXEN AND ADLER SCHOLARSHIP
The Plaxen and Adler Scholarship Awards $2500 annually to a law student who has demonstrated an interest in trial advocacy and a career as a trial lawyer, as well as the concept of a fair Civil Justice system, a just result for the injured, a desire to represent the injured and those whose rights are jeopardized. The scholarship is available to all law school students including those who are outstanding and promising scholars, have an interest in trial advocacy and possess a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

This scholarship was established to provide financial support to a law student whose life has been impacted by a family member serving in the Marine Corps and who is seeking to continue their education through law school. The Sanders Firm is proud to recognize students committed to supporting their local communities by volunteering their time in furtherance of the issues that matter most to them.  The scholarship of $1,000 was created to reward undergraduate or law school students who have demonstrated a meaningful commitment to his or her local community.

2015 DAVIS LIVINGSTON PUBLIC INTEREST LAW SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship intends to support first year law students intending to pursue public interest law and add to the ranks of motivated young attorneys willing to consider a career as a public interest lawyer. The firm awarded two $3,000 scholarships in 2014 after finding two extremely worthy applicants.

The Law Office of Steven L. The Tiftickjian Law Firm, P.C. is offering the Juvenile Justice Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.  This scholarship is intended to encourage and assist students with attending law school with an interest in juvenile justice, as well as raise awareness of the issue of prison sentences and reduced rights for minors that place youths on an institutionalized path towards spending a large part of their life in the criminal justice system.
