UCLA School of Law Office of Career Services
The advantages to graduating from UCLA School of Law result in a challenging question: How to choose among the vast array of opportunities that a UCLA School of Law degree makes possible. The success of UCLA School of Law graduates is well known throughout the employment market, including in private law firms, private and public agencies, organizations and institutions, government and non-profit entities and corporations. The Office of Career Services’ mission is to provide students and graduates with the tools and strategies necessary to make informed, active decisions about employment opportunities and career paths. The Office team helps students and alumni create an effective framework for a lifetime of active career management through one-on-one counseling, panel presentations, workshops, recruitment programs, job posting databases and other efforts. Connections between students, alumni, and employers also are facilitated by the office.
The Office has five full-time counselors available to work with students and alumni and to meet with employers. The counselors bring a combined 20 years of experience in career services and another 20 years of practicing law in private law firms, government and in-house counsel settings. They not only assist students and alumni in the career development process, but they remain active members of the legal community and continue to build invaluable relationships with alumni and employers.
In addition to the counselors, there is one recruitment administrator who oversees the large On Campus Interview Programs (OCIP) and other events and two assistants who maintain the job listings, Career Services website, clerkship database, resource library while also assisting students, alumni, and employers.
