The UCLA Transnational Program on Criminal Justice is delighted to welcome Richard Dicker, director of Human Rights Watch’s International Justice Program, as a UCLA School of Law Fellow in 2017. Dicker will teach International Justice during the January 2017 term.
Dicker has been director of Human Rights Watch's international justice program since it was founded in 2001, and has worked at Human Rights Watch since 1991. His work includes pursuit of charges of human rights violations against the Iraqi government for its treatment of Kurds, monitoring the trial of former Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic in The Hague and leading a multi-year campaign to establish the International Criminal Court. A former civil rights attorney in New York, Dicker graduated from New York University Law School and received his LL.M. from Columbia University.
