STUDENT CARPOOL PERMITS
Students who qualify for a valid carpool are guaranteed parking at a
discounted rate provided they apply by the posted deadline. All carpool
members must ride together at least three days per week, Monday through
Friday, and must live in areas that facilitate a logical commute
pattern. Carpool applications must be submitted together (stapled) by
mail or in person. Carpool permits are assigned on a semester basis and
are not renewable—new applications are required each semester. Need
assistance in forming carpools? The law school provides a secure site on-line where law students may exchange information; contacts and arrangements are the responsibility of the individual student.
NIGHT PERMITS
Night permits are available on a quarterly or annual basis. The
permit is valid from 4:30 pm until 7:00 am Monday through Friday, and
all day on weekends and university holidays.
PARKING SERVICES APPEAL FORM
Students admitted after the July 5th parking application
deadline should apply for a parking permit by submitting an appeal no
later than August 31, 2012. Submit the parking appeal form along with a
completed parking application and a copy of your letter of admission
and other required supporting documents to Parking Services for
consideration. Appeals will be considered through the deadline until
space is no longer available.
DISABLED STUDENT PARKING
Disabled students with or without valid DMV placards should contact
the Office of Students with Disabilities at (310) 825-1501 to request
parking.

VANPOOLING AT UCLA
Vanpools are based on a very simple principle: assemble a group of
people who are all coming to UCLA and/or Westwood from the same
community and transport them together in a deluxe UCLA van. Vanpools
normally operate weekdays, traveling between a common pick-up location
(where you may leave your car) and the UCLA campus/Westwood. UCLA
Vanpools are spacious, ranging in size from 9-11 passengers, and all are
equipped with air-conditioning, plush reclining seats, and reading
lights. Vanpool Drivers are responsible for ensuring the ongoing
operation of each vanpool. UCLA Vanpools utilize volunteers who, in
exchange for a free commute, accept responsibility for driving and
administering the van. There are many benefits to commuting by vanpool,
ranging from financial savings to air quality benefits. By not driving
alone to campus each day you are able to save money on gas, maintenance,
insurance, and parking. Your car will also last longer thanks to the
reduced miles you put on it. Throughout the region, incentives are often
offered to vanpoolers, including direct financial incentives and fare
rebates. Check with our office for any current programs from your
community. Vanpool riders are able to sit back, relax, and perhaps
catch-up on work or sleep while commuting. Passengers often comment on
the reduced stress and increased productivity that vanpooling allows.
Add to that the great benefit to our environment the removal of vehicle
emissions represent, and you have a wonderful way to beat the commute.
CAMPUS CAR SHARING PROGRAM
UCLA Transportation has teamed up with Zipcar, the nation's largest
provider of car sharing services, to give Bruin students, staff and
faculty access to vehicles parked all around campus for mobility when
you need it. Pay only for the hours you use—and the hourly fee covers
the cost of the car, mileage, insurance, parking, gas and maintenance.
OTHER PARKING OPTIONS
Street parking is available on some streets surrounding campus and in
Westwood Village, on a very limited, strictly regulated first-come,
first-serve basis. When utilizing street parking be sure to observe all
parking regulations.
