Fred A. Rowley, Jr. is co-teaching Supreme Court Clinic with Professor Stuart Banner in Spring 2014. He is a litigation partner in the Los Angeles office of Munger Tolles & Olson LLP, and is a leader of the firm’s Appellate Practice Group. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was Articles Editor for the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review. He clerked for Judge James R. Browning on the Ninth Circuit (1997-98) and for Judge David F. Levi in the Eastern District of California (1998-99). Between 2002 and 2006, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Appeals Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Professor Rowley is an elected member of the American Law Institute and the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers, and a board member and past president of the Federal Bar Association of Los Angeles. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Central District of California Lawyer Representatives to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.
