Marc Bender teaches Lawyering Skills and assists in supervising UCLA’s Trial Advocacy Clinic.
After graduating from the University of California Hastings College of the Law, Professor Bender became a staff attorney for Bet Tzedek Legal Services, where he eventually became a litigation and training supervisor. During this time, Professor Bender served as a volunteer supervisor for the Labor Defense Network of Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, whose county-wide clinics provide representation for low-income workers in employment matters. Professor Bender also served as a member of the L.A. Garment Workers’ Coalition, and has spent several decades advocating for and litigating on behalf of L.A. garment workers’ employment rights. He is also co-founder and four times past President of AFSCME Local 946, Bet Tzedek Legal Services Union
Professor Bender has also coached basketball and baseball for many years at the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.
