General Relief

Partner Agencies: Public Counsel's Homelessness Prevention Project, and LA County's Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) offices

Volunteers in this clinic advocate for clients’ right to receive public benefits. Clients at this clinic are poor, often unemployed or homeless being denied access to benefits, such as foodstamps, housing or meal vouchers, or medical assistance, that they are entitled by law to receive and which are often their last resort for survival. Clinics occur at various General Relief (LA County’s term for public assistance) offices.
