This 2-unit course will satisfy the Revised New York Court of Appeals Rule 520.6 (as amended January 12, 2012), enabling L.L.M. students to take the New York Bar Exam. During the semester, students will develop skills needed by practicing lawyers, including legal research, writing and analysis. These skills will be taught through the clinical method with students learning through practice and feedback. Students will be taught how to proficiently research their client’s problems and analyze how the law applies to their client’s situation. The course will then focus on how to draft predictive memoranda that objectively explain how the law applies to the client’s situation. Students will have several writing assignments throughout the semester and the course will be graded on a pass, no pass basis.
