Professor Steven Bank on
Major League Soccer in Crisis

With the expiration of its collective bargaining agreement on January 31, 2015, the Major League Soccer Players’ Union is threatening to go on strike and derail the start of the league’s 20th anniversary season.  What are the key issues underlying the dispute, how does MLS’s unique legal structure contribute to the dispute, and what are the possible outcomes?  Steven Bank, Paul Hastings Professor of Business Law at the UCLA School of Law and a legal analysis contributor to the website American Soccer Now, will explore these questions and offer a potential compromise solution.
