As a continuation of the Entertainment Law Speakers Program, on Wednesday, March 4, at 12:15 PM in Room 1430, the Entertainment, Media, and Intellectual Property Law Program and the Entertainment Law Association will host a presentation by Patrick Boiron, a partner with KGA Avocats, a highly respected French law firm with a strong practice in media and entertainment law.
Patrick will speak on the protection of copyright, trademark, and personal data in the European Union. He has been involved in drafting and negotiating French laws relating to various provisions of the Intellectual Property Code. He also has extensive experience in international treaties regarding copyright and intellectual property law.
Patrick was Chief Executive Officer of ADAMI (the private French agency for the collection of performers’ levies), and was Executive Vice President of S.A.C.E.M. (the French collective administration society for the royalties due to authors, composers and publishers of music). Patrick is a former law professor at the ESSEC, which is among the most prestigious business schools in the world.
