On March 15, the Ziffren Center will be hosting an interesting moot court in preparation for the oral argument in the widely-discussed deHavilland case.
See the recent NY Times feature on the 101-year-old star and her claims against FX and Ryan Murphy for their depiction of her in the hit series, Feud. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/03/style/olivia-de-havilland-fx-ryan-murphy-lawsuit.html
The case involves important First Amendment issues and the rights of publicity and privacy. Presenting the argument on behalf of the amici will be Jennifer Rothman, a UCLA alum and professor at Loyola Law, who will also be appearing in the appellate court. The distinguished panel will include UCLA Law's own Profs Eugene Volokh, Stuart Banner, and Dale Cohen.
Please RSVP via MyLaw no later than March 13, 2018.
*This is a private event open to UCLA Law students, faculty, staff, and invited guests*
