Shapiro Fellow in Environmental Law and Policy
Daniel Carpenter-Gold (he/him/his) is a fellow at the UCLA School of Law’s Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and co-taught the Environmental Law Clinic in Spring 2022. Prior to his fellowship at UCLA, he was a staff attorney in the Equitable Neighborhoods practice area of TakeRoot Justice, which provides legal, research, and policy support to community-based organizations in New York City to dismantle racial, economic, and social oppression. Before that, he held fellowships at the Natural Resources Defense Council and New York Lawyers for the Public Interest. Daniel was born and raised in rural Maine, received his B.A. from Columbia University, and received his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
