Danny Vannucchi is a part-time Professor at UCLA School of Law and teaches the course Strategies for Successful Human Rights Advocacy. Vannucchi is a senior human rights expert and practitioner, having worked with leading global non-profit organizations over the last 15 years, including Amnesty International and Plan International.

Vannucchi recently led the development of Amnesty International’s global strategy as Deputy Director of Global Strategy and Impact, guiding the future work of its millions of members and over seventy offices worldwide. In this role, Vannucchi has also overseen the planning of Amnesty’s global programs and pioneered new monitoring and evaluation standards for its human rights advocacy work. Vannucchi has worked for Amnesty International for over a decade in a variety of senior advocacy roles, leading global campaigns and programs on several human rights issues, including the prohibition against torture, corporate abuse, criminal justice reform, United Nations reform, and gender equality.

Vannucchi received his B.A. magna cum laude from the Political Science faculty “Cesare Alfieri” of the University of Florence (Italy), in International Studies, and M.A. in Human Rights from University College London. In 2017, he was awarded the Big Impact award by Third Sector UK for his advocacy work on child marriage in Malawi.
