Emily Scivoletto is the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs and teaches Leadership and the Law at UCLA School of Law. She oversees approximately 1000 students within the JD and law graduate programs, providing support to all students in meeting their academic, professional and personal goals. Prior to her work at UCLA she taught doctrinal and skills courses at University of San Diego, UC Davis and Pacific McGeorge Law Schools, and served as Director of Educational Outreach (to increase diversity in law school) and Director of Academic Success. Dean Scivoletto began her legal career as an associate and later a named partner at a law firm in Sacramento, California where she handled insurance defense and civil rights litigation cases. In addition, Dean Scivoletto obtained an M.A. in Higher Education from CSU Sacramento and focused her coursework and thesis on leadership, diversity and academic support in law schools.
Dean Scivoletto is active in the law student services and academic support communities on a national level. In 2014-15 she served as Chair of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Section on Student Services and served as an annual conference panelist for the Academic Support, Student Services and Part-time Student sections from 2011 to 2017. Most recently Dean Scivoletto assisted in founding the National Association of Law Student Affairs Professionals (NALSAP), a national organization of student services professionals who support law students.
