Femke Bartels will teach Human Rights Challenge at UCLA School of Law. She is currently Managing Director and Partner at THNK School for Creative Leadership in Amsterdam where she specializes in system dynamics and leveraging change in complex environments.
Bartels studied Political Sciences and International Relations at the University of Amsterdam, followed by a Master of Public Administration at the University of Twente. Prior to joining THNK, Bartels worked for Greenpeace where she was Campaign Director for Greenpeace Netherlands. She was also Global Forest Network Director and Global Director of Strategy and Planning for Greenpeace International, and served as Executive Director of Greenpeace Mexico. Bartels has also served as a policy advisor to the European Parliament and the Dutch Ministry of Environment. In addition to her teaching at THNK, Bartels is a member of the Advisory Board for the Museum of Tomorrow International and of the Social Sciences Advisory Board for the University of Amsterdam.
