Kathryn P. Hoek teaches Depositions and Pretrial Civil Litigation. She is a litigation partner in the Los Angeles office of Susman Godfrey LLP, one of the nation’s top trial firms based in Houston, Texas. She has represented plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts across the country in a broad variety of complex business litigation matters including commercial litigation, patent and other intellectual property litigation, employment and wage and hour litigation, class actions, antitrust, insurance, and securities litigation. She was named a "Super Lawyer" in 2014-2016 by Southern California Super Lawyers, a "Women's Super Lawyer" in 2015-2016, and a "Rising Star" six times by Law & Politics Magazine.

Hoek was previously an associate at Irell & Manella LLP, and clerked for the Honorable Lee H. Rosenthal, United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Hoek earned her B.A. in Sociology from Yale University, where she graduated summa cum laude and with distinction in her major and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received her J.D. at Yale Law School where she served as a Coker Fellow to teach legal writing.
