Professor Volokh Comments on Court Decision Overturning Convictions for Threatening Barack Obama in San Francisco Chronicle Article

July 20, 2011 -- Professor Eugene Volokh commented on a Ninth Circuit decision overturning the convictions of a man who threatened Barack Obama before the 2008 presidential election. His comments appear in a San Francisco Chronicle article.

Eugene Volokh, a UCLA law professor and legal commentator, said the high court might well decide to review the case.

"This is a close case," he said. "The line between punishable threats and protected vituperation, or even protected advocacy of violence, is not completely clear."
