Professor Volokh Cited in Wall Street Journal "Law Blog" Article on the Conviction of the "Irvine 11"

September 26, 2011 -- Professor Eugene Volokh was cited in a Wall Street Journal "Law Blog" article on the conviction of the 10 Muslim men who interrupted an Israeli ambassador’s 2010 speech.

At the Volokh Conspiracy, UCLA law professor Eugene Volokh analyzes the California law at issue. A California court has held that to be convicted under the law, Volokh writes, prosecutors must show that a defendant “substantially impaired” a meeting  and secondly that the defendant did so in violation of “implicit customs” or “explicit rules” for the governance of the meeting.
