Professor Stone Comments on Hourly Workers’ Needs in New York Times

September 27, 2012 – Professor Katherine Stone commented on the best way to fix hourly workers’ hardships in a letter to the editor published in the New York Times.

Formerly a lawyer representing flight attendant unions, Professor Stone suggested that those with short and variable hours should look toward the unionization and bargaining achieved decades ago by those unions. “All workers in industries that impose variable hours and use short shifts and on-call workers should consider emulating that model,” she said.
