Professor Schwartz's Work Was Cited In An Article Discussing How Malpractice Lawsuits Promote Patient Safety

March 20, 2013 -- Joanna Schwartz, a law professor at UCLA School of Law, ​was recently cited for her upcoming work in a Jotwell article that discussed how medical malpractice claims play an important role in improving patient safety. Schwartz found that medical workers, who were originally responsible for ensuring minimal financial losses within hospitals, are now extremely focused on increasing transparency with their patients in order to ensure their safety.
