Dean Moran Named to Lawyers of Color's Fourth Annual Power List

February 6, 2015 -- Dean Rachel F. Moran has been named to Lawyers of Color’s Fourth Annual Power List, a comprehensive catalog of the nation’s most influential minority attorneys and non-minority diversity advocates. She will be honored at a reception on March 18, 2015 in Washington, D.C. and profiled in the 2015 Lawyers of Color Power Issue.

Dean Moran is highly active in the legal community. In September 2011, she was appointed by President Obama to serve as a member of the Permanent Committee for the Oliver Wendell Holmes Devise. She was appointed as President of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) in 2009. She is a member of the American Law Institute and served on the Executive Committee of the Association of American Law Schools. She sat on the Standing Committee of the Division of Public Education of the American Bar Association; serves on the Board of Advisors for the Texas Hispanic Journal of Law and Policy; and was on the Executive Board of the Berkeley Law Foundation. In May 2014, she was selected by American Bar Association (ABA) President James R. Silkenat to serve on the ABA Task Force on the Financing of Legal Education. In August 2014, she was appointed to an American Bar Foundation working group to develop a research initiative on Latinos and the Law. In recent years, she was also inducted into the Lincoln Club and the Chancery Club of Los Angeles, was elected to the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s Board of Governors and completed her service as a Senator for the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
