May 1, 2015 – Professor Steven Bank commented on the National Football League’s recent decision to give up its tax-exempt status in a U.S. News & World Report article.
“The popular assumption that they're giving up the tax exemption as some kind of a give-away to the government is probably not the right way to think about it,” says Professor Bank. “The right way to think about it is there is a going-private transaction for a public corporation. They don't want to deal with the disclosure anymore.”
