Professor Kimberlè Crenshaw to Receive 2016 Outstanding Scholar Award from the American Bar Foundation

January 8, 2016 – Distinguished Professor of Law Kimberlè Crenshaw will receive the prestigious 2016 Outstanding Scholar Award from the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation (ABF) at the ABF’s 60th Annual Awards Reception and Banquet on Saturday, February 6, 2016 in San Diego.  Professor Crenshaw, a leader in the intellectual movement called Critical Race Theory whose primary scholarly interests center around race and the law, will be honored for her outstanding legal scholarship. 

The Fellows Awards Banquet is the ABF’s largest event of the year, bringing together more than 150 Fellows from the bench and bar to pay tribute to outstanding individuals in the field.  The Fellows are a group of distinguished attorneys, judges and law professors who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the profession and in society.
