May 2, 2016--Professor Kimberlé Crenshaw was among the speakers at “Rethink Discipline: A Conversation on Black Girls in the School-to-Prison Pipeline,” an April 26th event hosted by Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Va.) held to start a dialogue about the plight of black girls and the school-to-prison pipeline. Crenshaw believes that finding solutions to the issues black girls face is in the best interest of the community as a whole.
“Our girls have been left in the shadows for far too long,” said Crenshaw.
