Professor Winkler Quoted by S.F. Chronicle on U.S. Senate Candidate Loretta Sanchez’s Vote to Restrict Liability for Gun Manufacturers

May 18, 2016—Professor Adam Winkler was quoted in an article in The San Francisco Chronicle addressing U.S. Senate candidate Loretta Sanchez’s support to protect firearm manufacturers and sellers from legal liability when sales result in crimes or tragic accidents. Sanchez voted for a federal law that would to restrict liability for firearm manufactures and sellers in 2005.


“Ever since the December 2012 slaughters of 20 children and six adults at a school in Newtown, Conn., Americans have been more receptive to pleas for gun control,” noted Winkler, “guns are one of the defining issues in the 2016 election.”
