August 10, 2016 – Professor Sean Hecht, co-executive director of the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, commented in Bloomberg News on a recently released study which found that California’s environmental review process, which requires public comment and extensive analysis of a project’s environmental impact, does not limit economic growth or new development. The study also examined whether lawsuits challenging such reviews are growing.
“What this does is provide extensive quantitative data,” said Professor Hecht, in commenting on the study. “It's also one of the few studies that looks at projects that didn't go through litigation.”
