Professor Douglas Lichtman Featured in Leading Legal Summits

Diuglas LichtmanUCLA School of Law professor Douglas Lichtman is a featured speaker and panelist at several leading legal events throughout the spring. On March 1, Lichtman, a faculty member at UCLA Law’s Ziffren Center for Media, Entertainment, Technology and Sports Law, participated in the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Association’s Judges' Night Gala at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown L.A. There, he joined a panel of speakers that included distinguished UCLA Law alumni Judge Alex Kozinski '75 of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; Judge Andrew Guilford '75 of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California; and Magistrate Judge Gail Standish ’93 of the Central District. He also delivered a keynote address at the Lightspark Media Summit at the University of Utah's S.J. Quinney College of Law on March 3. He presents his work "Patient Patents" at the UC Berkeley School of Law's Law and Economics Workshop on March 20

Lichtman's work focuses on the intersection between law and technology, and his scholarship on patents, copyrights, telecommunications regulation, and information strategy and economics has been featured in publications including the Yale Law Journal and the Harvard Business Review. A graduate of Duke University and Yale Law School, Lichtman has been a member of the UCLA Law faculty since 2007.
