Steven Bank Surveyed by Philadelphia Inquirer on North America’s 2026 World Cup Bid

Professor Steven Bank was surveyed by the Philadelphia Inquirer about whether or not President Trump’s public comments will effect next month’s vote in Moscow to determine which country will host the 2026 World Cup. The president’s comments have shown strong support for North America’s bid to host.

“If the United 2026 bid fails, I think it’s a bit simplistic to assign all the blame to President Trump,” Bank said. “There are multiple pre-Trump factors that could or may already be affecting the bid.”
