Washington Post Cites Eugene Volokh on First Amendment Ties to NFL’s Anthem Protest Rules

The Washington Post cited Professor Eugene Volokh in a discussion about the NFL’s new policy that requires players to stand for the national anthem on the field or wait in the locker room. While the First Amendment doesn’t directly apply to private companies like the NFL, Volokh said that “a considerable amount of states including those that have NFL teams and stadiums do in fact have laws that bar private employers from retaliating against employees because of their political activity.”
