UCLA School of Law professor Kal Raustiala is the co-host of a new podcast series, International Law Behind the Headlines, from the American Society of International Law. With Catherine Amirfar, a former legal adviser to the U.S. State Department who now co-chairs the international law group at Debevoise & Plimpton, Raustiala explores leading international legal issues through interviews and analysis.
The first episode of the series addresses whether the post-World War II international order is being dismantled. It includes discussions with Dapo Akande of the University of Oxford, José Alvarez of NYU School of Law, Jack Goldsmith of Harvard Law School, and Oona Hathaway and Harold Koh of Yale Law School. It is available now on the ASIL website.
Among the nation’s leading international law scholars, Raustiala is the director of the UCLA Ronald W. Burkle Center for International Relations and the faculty director of the UCLA International Education Office. From 2016 to 2018, he served as vice president of ASIL.
