You can unsubscribe yourself. GMail makes it particularly easy, in fact.

If you look at the "headers" (or "raw email" or "show original", etc.)
for each election-law email, they contain the following item:

List-Unsubscribe:
<http://department-lists.uci.edu/mailman/listinfo/law-election>,
	<mailto:law-election-request at department-lists.uci.edu?subject=unsubscribe>

This provides two methods to unsubscribe: pointing your browser to the
list account page,

http://department-lists.uci.edu/mailman/listinfo/law-election

or sending email to law-election-request at department-lists.uci.edu with
"unsubscribe" in the Subject line of the email.

Email software such as GMail uses this to unsubscribe you. In GMail,
click on "More Details" for any election-law email and then click on
"Unsubscribe from this mailing-list".

best, Joe

PS: The list account page allows you to do other things, such as
temporarily suspend list email (vacation/sabbatical), change your
email address, specify "digest" mode where emails are delivered in one
big email per day.
