[EL] American elect

I just noticed, and it's worth noting, Darry Sragow is an "Adviser to
Americans Elect," so I presume he's working for AE in a paid capacity.
He's not just a "[p]olitical science professor." He has consulted for
many campaigns before. Hence, the tough, campaign-style, hard-hitting,
personal attack/challenging response to Rick Hasen.

Sragow has extensive campaign work experience for Democrats.

He and Dan Schnur, a former Republican campaign consultant -- who
recently led the Fair Political Practices Commission in CA, and is
currently at USC's Unruh Institute -- have appeared together at civic
events (including for the League of Women Voters), providing informative
and engaging takes on politics, as a sort of traveling "Mutt and Jeff" show.

(Schnur demonstrated cross-partisanship for a while by being in a
relationship with a Democrat who's a friend of mine.)

Could it be that former partisans Sragow and Schnur have found
employment in the center (academia & AE; academia) because "that's where
the money is?"

I have to admit, I would take a job with either of them in a heartbeat.
