[EL] 527s and amicus brief

[Ellen Aprill]

Does anyone of the list have experience with a legislator using his or her
527 organization to cover the costs of an amicus brief in connection with a
challenge to legislation?  If not, how are the costs of such briefs paid? (I
had someone call and ask me tthis in connection with a challenge to state
legislation yesterday).
