[EL] "Coordination" is not anything Congress says it is

It seems Fred Wertheimer has a plan to stop the information we've been
getting from SuperPACs: Have Congress define "independence" out of
existence.

I look forward to reading the details of his proposed legislation. But it
seems Fred's plan would keep campaign consultants from one day becoming
political consultants -- choose your career path wisely! -- and keep
candidates from associating to any degree with an organization that may
support them. I wonder if Fred's next loophole will be candidate
endorsements.
And wonder when he will do anything about the more glaring "loophole" in
the laws governing politics and policy: Preventing policy tanks the
"distorting" advantage of coordinating the roll-out of their legislative
proposals in the nation's largest newspapers.
