[EL] casting stones

"Given the unfortunate rise of partisanship in election law, it is not
surprising that the great majority of people on this list have been
uninterested in this matter, which would surely be raising a storm if it
were, say, the Romney online fundraising that were in question."

Personally, hardly anybody out there pays what I think is proper attention
(given the enormity of the problem) to all the NVRA violations that are
occurring in dozens of states and hundreds of counties. But I wouldn't
castigate list members for it. Instead, I'd assume they know or perhaps
suppose that work is being done on this issue by other folks. (Which is
true. Excellent work is being done on this issue by several groups.) Or I'd
assume the list readers have their own hands full with the issues that are
in front of them. If you want attention to an issue, use Google to learn
how to write up a press release or start banging whatever drums you have.
But I don't see the need to cast aspersions on members. After all, I
suspect the lions share of list members "lurk" and never/rarely post.
Nothing political about that.
