Glad to see Minnesota protecting their people from the type of harassment
the Prop 8 supporters were subjected to. When I was with Jim Bopp's firm,
we cited examples of Prop 8 supporters who were fired for donating as
little as $100 to support Prop 8 in an effort to prove what might happen if
Washington State released the names of those who signed a petition for a
protect-marriage ballot measure. We also cited examples of people who were
subjected to what can only be described as domestic terrorism as a result
of their minimal contributions being made public. I realize that the
federal district court in *Doe v. Reed *did not find this evidence
sufficient to establish harrasment, but it occurred nonetheless, and was
certainly "suffcient" to the people who lost their jobs and were otherwise
subjected to death threats and attacks. I hope Minnesota will offer the
protections to those who support marriage, and not just to those who
support redefining it.
