The "Covington Primer on Super Pacs" states: "It is also possible for
a
> traditional Pac to sponsor a Super Pac." I responded to Covington as
> follows: "May I assume that refers only to free-standing Pacs not
SSFs?
> I cannot see how a corporate or union SSF, whose administrative and
> fund-raising costs are paid by the sponsor and can only solicit
limited
> contributions from their restricted class, can sponsor a Super PAC."
>
> I got the following reply from one of the Covington lawyers:
"I
> don't in principle see any reason why an SSF couldn't do the same.
More
> precisely, I don't see any reason why a corporation couldn't set up
a
> Super Pac account alongside its SSF account."
