[EL] new thread responding to Coney linking right-wing rhetoric and political violence

**Lillie Coney wrote: "There is nothing to fear but fear itself was the 
reply to Pearl Harbor for a reason--people
can be at their very worse when afraid."

That phrase by FDR was not a reply to Pearl Harbor.  It was a reply to 
the Depression.  It was in FDR's inauguration speech on March 4, 1933.

    "So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing
    we have to fear is fear itself---nameless, unreasoning, unjustified
    terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance."
