As many of you know, the Law and Political Process Study Group sponsors a panel each year at the APSA meetings. This year the convention is in New Orleans and the panel will be on Friday, August 31, at 10:15 a.m. Rick Hasen and Bruce Cain have put together a good panel on redistricting commissions.
To me has fallen the august responsibility to organize the traditional dinner the night of the panel, i.e., this year, Friday night. In New Orleans, even I can probably pick a restaurant with good food. The dinner is open to members of the panel and friends of the Law and Political Process Study Group. To qualify as a friend, you must pass both parts of a test that is strictly enforced: 1) You must not have been convicted of a violent criminal offense against more than one member of the group; and 2) You must be willing to have dinner with us.
You will not need to rsvp until we get much closer to the event, but I'm sending this out now so that if you'd like to join us, you can avoid conflicting commitments. Meanwhile, I wish everyone on this listserv a happy summer.
Best,
