Actually, this parody is not all that far from the truth as one might
suspect. The Florida ballot is exceedingly long this election due to a
number of ballot initiatives that have been fully printed on the ballot,
with upwards of 10 pages in some counties when local elections are added. A
consequence is that voters will have to spend more time filling out their
ballots and feeding them into scanners, which will create long lines.
"This is the longest ballot I can remember," said Pinellas County Supervisor
of Elections Deborah Clark. "The voter who sees this ballot the first time
may need smelling salts."
