*Public Integrity*

*Call for Papers*

*75th APSA Anniversary Symposium: Visions and Voices of Ethics in the
Profession*

This symposium will focus on ethical issues in the profession. We invite
research papers, commentaries, exemplar profiles, case studies, or
narrative pieces that address topical issues at any level of government,
including nongovernmental actors that affect public policy or
public/private partnerships. We are interested in reflective pieces looking
backward on the changing state of ethics over the last 75 years, but also
wish to emphasize the future of administrative ethics and public integrity
in a world facing a new series of challenges that include globalization,
alternative service delivery mechanisms, and generational shifts in
attitudes. We welcome proposals on a wide number of topics including but
not limited to: climate change, campaign finance reform, genocide, torture,
just war, corruption, whistleblowing, codes of conduct, human rights,
administrative responsibility, organizational ethics, virtue ethics,
conflict of interest, ethical reasoning, and ethics management

Final, referred papers in APA style should be 15-30 double-spaced pages
depending on the type of analysis. Academic authors should specify the
implications for practice; practitioner authors should be broadly
reflective on the profession. The final number of contributions in the
symposium will be comparable to that found in past issues of *Public
Integrity*.

We encourage both junior and senior scholars and professionals to submit
proposals. Potential authors should send a one-page proposal that includes
a working title, a description of the topic with an indication of its
importance, and a short biographical sketch to the Guest Editors of the
Symposium: David A. Schultz (dschultz at hamline.edu) and Diane E. Yoder (
yoder at usc.edu) no later than May 15, 2013. . Authors will be notified in
early June. Finished manuscripts will be due September 1st, and final
revised manuscripts will be due January 1, so that the symposium can be
published during ASPA’s 75th anniversary year. Manuscripts published in
this symposium as well as others submitted may be considered for conference
presentation and potential inclusion in a book on the topic.

For additional information, contact David A. Schultz (dschultz at hamline.edu)
or Diane E. Yoder (yoder at usc.edu).
