Joe,

I think one of the things Bob tried to teach all of us was to remember the humanity of each and every person. Thank you.

My thoughts and prayers are with Bob's family, friends, and coworkers. Death is one of the common adversaries that we all, as members of the human family, share. May we all, regardless of our political persuasion, ask God to comfort and keep those who knew and loved Bob.

Public Citizen Remembers Common Cause President and Lifelong Public Servant Bob Edgar

Statement of Robert Weissman, president of Public Citizen, on passing of Bob Edgar

April 23, 2013

Contact: Sam Jewler (202) 588-7779

We’re stunned and devastated to learn of the sudden death of our dear friend and Common Cause President Bob Edgar.

Bob radiated a passion for justice, and with joyful fervor he inspired everyone around him to share his belief in, and commitment to working for, a more democratic and just society.

Through a long and varied career, Bob took on many roles and causes – but all of the chapters in his remarkable life were connected by his essential decency, kindness and compassion.
