[EL] A personal academic request from an electionlaw list member

Dear electionlaw list members,

I will be having my five-year review during this academic year. It is not that big a deal, because I have tenure. I would like, however, to let my dean know that I have been doing something useful during the last several years. Part of that may be my participation on this list.

The chair of our tenured faculty committee, Prof. Gregory Ogden, will be coordinating the review process. I've copied him on this email.

If any of you are so inclined, you might send him an email giving your view of the value, if any, of my participation on this list. His email address is gregory.ogden at pepperdine.edu<mailto:gregory.ogden at pepperdine.edu>.

I have asked Prof. Ogden, and he has agreed, not to share with me the names of any of you who respond, or the substance of any response. He will forward the emails to the committee of two or three faculty members who will be preparing the review memorandum to the dean; they will also maintain the confidentiality of the responses.

I have sent a similar request to the conlawprof list (which I moderate) and to the religionlaw list. My apologies for the multiple messages that those of you are members of those lists may receive.

Please do not feel any obligation to send anything to Prof. Ogden; that is entirely up to each of you, and I know that you all are busy.
