A Sign that Senate Democrats May Be Ready to Confirm 2 EAC
    Commissioners <http://electionlawblog.org/?p=57088>

    COMMITTEE NOTICE

There will be a meeting of the Committee on Rules and Administration
    on *Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at 10:00 a.m.* in SR-301, Russell
Senate Office Building, to receive testimony on the *nomination of
Thomas Hicks and Myrna Pérez to be members of the Election
    Assistance Commission.*

    Lynden C. Armstrong

    Chief Clerk

U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and Administration

The end of the filibuster for executive nominations make this possible.
Republicans have not put forward the names of any Republican nominees
for the EAC, and there's not much two confirmed commissioners can do.
Still, it will be harder to call the EAC a zombie agency if it has two
commissioners out there speaking for the agency and doing things.

The hearing should be webcast here <http://www.rules.senate.gov/public/>.
