Lee Goodman is a very accomplished federal election lawyer, and one of the
"go-to" lawyers on Virginia campaign finance law.

Does anyone know if Ann Ravel has any experience with federal election
law? Doesn't appear so from her official biography. I see nothing in her
background with the Federal Trade Commission or DoJ that gives her any
background in federal CF law. There is this: "So it burns her backside to know that
campaigns are using the intertubes to propagandize without letting internet
readers and viewers know where the information is coming from and who’s
paying for it."

Or is this like all the new IRS Exempt Organization officials (indeed, the
new IRS Commissioner), who will be starting with no substantive knowledge
of the subject matter they are supposed to oversee? "But they're really good
 managers!"
