A newly-confirmed Commissioner at the Federal Election Commission in
Washington, D.C. seeks an Executive Assistant.The position will require
strong research and writing skills, excellent communications skills, and
a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Responsibilities will
entail approximately 75% substantive legal work and 25% administrative
work.The substantive work will include conducting research and drafting
memos on agency regulations, legislative history, and relevant court
decisions in the area of Federal campaign finance law; drafting and
editing public statements; assisting with enforcement and policy
matters; and providing advice and counsel to the
Commissioner.Administrative responsibilities will include, coordinating
appointments, travel and meetings; managing correspondence flow and
document preparation; preparing briefing books for meetings; providing
editorial support; and liaising between the Commissioner's office and
other agency offices.
Qualified applicants will be motivated self-starters with an interest in
political law and at least two years of related professional experience
or equivalent advanced educational experience such as a J.D. from an
accredited law school. Salary is at the GS-13/14/15 level depending on
