Hi all:

Tomorrow, September 17, Constitution Day, Hons Von Spakovsky and I will
square off in a debate at the University of St. Thomas Law School in
Minneapolis, Minnesota. Generically, we shall be debating election law and
the Constitution.

Second, last fall Hamline law school sponsored a conference on minority
rights and majority rule. The Hamline Journal of Public Law and Policy has
just published in a symposium several articles drawn from the
conference. This includes my piece "Liberty v. Elections: Minority
Rights and the Failure of Direct Democracy." This article is also one
chapter in my forthcoming book, *Election Law and Democratic Theory*--the
first book length work seeking to integrate election law jurisprudence with
American democratic theory.
