Jim,
I'm not going to get into another long debate with you on the internet.
But depending upon how one defines the problem, the sky actually is
already falling, and the election of Obama does not prove that the
system is working. I've made a number of points about the problem of
legislative skew in this piece
(http://www.stanfordlawreview.org/print/article/lobbying-rent-seeking-and-constitution)
and I've begun work on a much larger work which will eventually respond
to these points.
